The current introduction figure is a three-panel conceptual plot: pretrained model fit without visible strategy structure, random-initialized latent model with unused latent variable, and variationally trained latent model whose latent variable is aligned with interpretable shared strategies while preserving the marginal data distribution.

Writing Role

This is the introductory motivation figure. It should visually establish the paper's main contrast: preserving the observable distribution is not enough; the desired factorization should expose a strategy-aligned latent variable whose semantics are shared across problem instances.

Stale Or Open Items

The file path:paper/conference-paper/figures/motivation.tex still exists as an older placeholder with the same label, but it is not currently input. Avoid treating that placeholder as the active figure unless the paper source is changed.
